Chance to see Olympic medallists in action less than a month after London 2012

Tour of Britain 2012 dates revealed

The Tour of Britain will once again ride through England, Scotland and Wales over eight days next year.

While route details are to be announced in the New Year, organiser SweetSpot has confirmed it will run from Sunday September 9th to Sunday September 16th September 2012.

The timing means spectators will be able to see Olympic medallists in action less than a month after the London Olympics, and for the riders will act as a warm up for the Worlds – where Mark Cavendish found victory just days after taking the honours in the final stage of the Tour of Britain in London.

Spectators that came along to the race this year, ranked at the 2.1 level by the UCI, are being invited to take part in a survey, with a chance of bagging a VIP hospitality prize at next year’s event www.surveymonkey.com/s/ToB-2011.

2011’s Tour winner Lars Boom (pictured) said of this year’s race: "It was awesome. London is a very nice city. It’s a lovely country, I didn’t expect that. The public was awesome, a lot of cheering so it was a great week for us.

“My most memorable moment was the first stage, the circuit, the small roads, the rain – it was awesome.“
