The form the UK branch of IMBA will take has yet to be confirmed but, for the moment, it is based at Coed Y Brenin and is being caretaker managed by Forest Enterprise’s Dafydd Davies.

IMBA/FE UK’s first trail building school was held at Coed Y Brenin over the Bank Holiday weekend. 25 riders attended and were shown how to build technical trails that are both sustainable and easy to maintain.

The UK Trailbuilding Crew will lead three more trailbuilding schools across Wales,

England and Scotland. The team is modelled after the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew that has led trailbuilding and maintenance projects worldwide since 1997.

"The Trailbuilding Crew’s goal is to help riders to work with Forest Enterprise to build more trails in more forests around the UK. At the end of the day, this will be good for riders, good for the environment and good for the UK bicycle industry," said Judd de Vall, IMBA’s international coordinator.

The next schools will be held September 1st-2nd, Dalby, England; September 7th-8th Afan Argoed, Wales and September 14th-15th, Mabie Forest, Scotland

MTB companies are encouraged to become corporate members of IMBA and contact de Vall regarding sponsorship of IMBA's programmes in the UK.
