Twenty-five year-old Lobnitz is a mechanical engineer by training but is carving a niche for himself in the world of bicycle trailers.

His first Carry Freedom trailer - the City - doubled up as a suitcase on wheels, and was suitable for towing behind folding bikes as well as standard bikes, and is now joined by two heavy-duty utility trailers -the Y-frames - and a dog trailer - the bArk.

Lobnitz said he's selling 4000 trailers a year, with distribution outlets across Europe and East Asia.

His sales will increase following a deal with Dahon which has commissioned Lobnitz to design a trailer suitable for its folding bikes.
