California firm TuneBug has revealed what it describes as a 'surround sound' system compatible with any helmet.

The headphone-free device utilises 'Surface Sound Technology', which enables the TuneBug to be strapped to any helmet with vents. When attached, the device creates an 'overhead listening experience', connected to any mp3 device with Bluetooth connectivity.

Five hours of playback are offered per charge of the TuneBug device, which is currently sold via Amazon and selected Apple stores, as well as via Tunebug.com.

“The Tunebug Shake offers a completely unique solution for listening to music while engaging in sports for bikers, skateboarders, snowboarders, skiers, and others who until now have not been able to listen to music safely while wearing a helmet” says Tami Bhaumik, Tunebug VP of marketing.
