UCI see sense, says Silverfish

Darren Mabbott of Silverfish, UK importers of Race Face kit, emails us with his take on the recent UCI climbdown.
Publish date:

"As of the 1/1/2000 the UCI management committee decided that 1.9.3 Bikes must use a wheel front and back that is no more than 26 inches.

This means that 24" wheels are completely legal for MTB competition and should encourage dealers to stock these lines now that this is the case. Silverfish UK have excellent stocks of both 24" rims and 24" tyres.

As for dealers already stocking 24s, well done, we all knew the UCI would see the benefits to performance and longevity offered by upgrading to 24" wheels (we just weren't sure how long it'd take 'em to make the decision)."
