London-born hi-visibility cycling accessory brand Proviz has secured distribution to the North American cycle trade with Cycles Brixton International.
The move is the latest step in Proviz's ambitions to bring its light-emitting cycling clothing and accessories – including cycling helmets, jackets, rucksacks, rucksack covers and more – to the global market.
Cycles Brixton International is a high-end bicycle frame manufacturer as well as a distributor handling the likes of ITM, Halo, Qoleum, K-Edge and Selle Italia.
"This move into the huge US market has come at an exciting time for us as we seek to expand the Proviz range into other countries worldwide," said Rupert Langly-Smith, Proviz MD. "We have had multiple enquiries from cyclists in the US wanting to purchase our products, which will now be available to them in shops across America. We hope to announce further distribution deals in the months ahead."
President of Cycles Brixton International David Sobel commented: "We've identified Proviz as a totally unique brand that offer innovative safety products that do an incredible job at keeping cyclists visible on the roads. When we put them to the test on the roads at night we instantly knew they would be a big hit here in the USA."
Proviz was set up by brothers Anthony and Rupert Langly-Smith, from London, in 2009. Having both cycled to work for years, they decided to provide a solution for those who adapt their current cycle accessories, by attaching camping head lamps or reflective tape to their helmet, in an attempt to become more visible. From that premise Proviz was born, with a range of light-emitting cycling products specifically designed to increase visibility and safety of cyclists.
Proviz is distributed in the UK by Moore Large.
