Velobrands has added high-end wheel label Knight Composites to its portfolio.
With a focus on aerodynamics, Knight's design process focuses on the the trailing edge of the rim, which the brand now calls Trailing Edge Aerodynamic Manipulation or TEAM tech.
TEAM tech places greater emphasis on how the air flows from the rim, to the tire and onto the downtube and rest of the frame. Knight designer Kevin Quan, the man behind the iconic Cervelo P3, as well as the firm's design team, suggests that Knight's wheels are sturdier in crosswinds and more aerodynamic than much of the market competition.
The braking surface on Knight's rims are thicker than many other clincher wheels on the market. Rigorous testing of the braking surface found that their wheels run considerably cooler than most do to the added material. This reduces the chance of rim fatigue and brake track failure as a result of heat and is a key reason why the firm are backing product with a three year warranty.
VeloBrands director Will Miles said of bringing Knight to the UK market: “VeloBrands are extremely pleased and proud to be partnering Knight Composites for the UK market starting with immediate effect. The product from Knight is second to none and we look forward to bringing these exciting and incredibly fast new wheels to top quality bike shops across the country soon.”
VeloBrands are currently looking for retailers interested in stocking Knight and will have wheel samples available soon. Any retailers interested in stocking Knight should email email@example.com.
