Wattbike to carry ‘Endorsed by British Cycling’ mark

Wattbikes are to be used by British Cycling to train elite cyclists and for talent identification over the next three years.

As a result the indoor cycle trainer firm will carry the ‘Endorsed by British Cycling’ mark. Members of the organisation.

The relationship will also see Wattbike collaborate with the organisation on intiatives to increase recreational participation in cycling. Members will also get a discount on Wattbikes.

“We have worked closely with British Cycling to develop the Wattbike over the last decade and are excited that the product will carry the ‘Endorsed by British Cycling’ mark into 2012 and beyond," said Wattbike MD Ian Wilson.

"We are proud to have played a role in the recent success enjoyed by British Cycling and look forward to developing initiatives to increase participation in the sport of cycling with the leading cycling governing body in the world.”

British Cycling CEO Ian Drake added: “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Wattbike. Over the past decade the brand has worked closely with the Great Britain Cycling Team to develop a product that is used by World and Olympic champions for training and in preparation for competition. The Wattbike team is passionate about cycling and we look forward to working together to bring the bikes to more cycling fans and let them experience indoor cycle training all year round."
