Who said bike innovation is dead?

Acorn has snapped up a neat brake pad set from Promax of the US. The pads feature integral LEDs which light up when pressed to the rim. And, the British-designed seatpost pump, mentioned on this site in October, is getting closer to market.

The Promax I-Pad is made from an all-weather compound and fits LX-type V-brakes, with a canti type available too.

The batteries last 72 hours in constant use. For most people, years in other words.

They should retail for about £11.95 a pair.

And Phil Robinson (see link below for full story) has said his seatpost is getting close to full launch. Mid-summer, he reckons.

Here's a quote from his press release:

"The Zorin pump (patent pending) is a hybrid design that takes the best features from current track and mini-pumps and incorporates them into a unique storage location – the seat-post. This position gives the pump the added advantage of being hidden from view when stored and also provides protection from environmental factors that can reduce the efficiency of the pump. The pump also benefits from a specific technical feature that enables a greater pressure capability. Added to this, the pump weighs less than having a seat-post and mini-pump separately."
