California to see bicycle parade world record attempt

The City of Davis, California is set to see an attempt to crack the Guinness World Record for largest bicycle parade.

Organised by local group the Davis Odd Fellows, the ride is to take place on Sunday October 3rd, with event proceeds invested in schools in the community.

The parade is set to finish at Central Park in the city, where a family fund day festival will take place.

The current record is held by Bankok, Thailand with a parade that saw a huge 3,515 cyclists take part. Strict rules govern any attempts on the world record – bicycles in the parade must not be any more than two bicycle-lengths apart during the parade, which must last at least two miles.
