Raleigh, Giant, Peak Performance, SRAM, Dawes, Pashley, Cannondale, and Leisure Systems International have booked a presence at next years Urban Tour, the third annual running of the MBUK Road Show. Local IBDs can book nearer the time.

Can MBUK Live convert the masses?

Dates and venues have just been released for MBUKs Urban Tour, the summer roadshow versions of Futures Bike consumer show staged at the NEC in the Spring.

In 1999 Futures five one-day roadshows attracted an estimated audience of 20 000.

Spread over two weeks and involving lots of big name riders pulling stunts and signing autographs, the tour visited the Shopping Centre in Milton Keynes and four seaside venues: Blackpool Promenade, Whitley Bay Links, Bournemouth seafront and Brighton and Hove Esplanade.

Switching to busy public locations from last years school venues meant the 1999 tour not only attracted thousands of MBUK readers, but also large numbers of local families and holidaymakers too, said Chris Holman, Future Publishings Events Manager.

Futures Sports and Entertainment Director Mike Frey (the man who gave us Total Bike) is bullish about the Urban Tours reach: We are the only magazine publisher that is actively trying to grow the cycling market by organising non-profit making events like The Tour.

The Y2K venues are:
