Canyon releases new carbon cyclo-cross bike

Canyon has released the new carbon Inflite CF SLX cyclo-cross bike.

The brand commented that to hit all of its weight, stiffness and durability targets with the Inflite CF SLX, it used a combination of performance-based high tensile, high modulus and intermediate modulus carbon fibres throughout the structure. At 940g for the frame and sub 1300g for the frame set, this is reportedly one of the lightest cross platforms on the market.

Beyond improved carrying, the unique form of the seat tube junction serves another important function by exposing more seatpost; by enabling the post to flex more, rider comfort is improved, whilst extending both reach and wheelbase results in extra stability at speed. Handling agility is maintained thanks to longer rake and a 72.5° head angle. Equipping cross-specific cockpits with wider bars and shorter stems has further enhanced control.

Thanks to the new 3XS frames, Canyon now reportedly offers the widest size range on the market, and can accommodate riders from 152 cm and above. With the 2XS and 3XS frames, performance issues were overcome by switching to 650B wheels. This creates uniform riding positions and dynamics across the entire size spectrum so that riders of all dimensions experience the same handling performance.
