Customers can choose to saddle up when their car is in for a service

Car dealer offers e-bike as alternative to courtesy car

North-East car dealership Benfield is offering customers the chance to use an electric bike, rather than a courtesy car, while their car is being serviced.

Benfield Nissan and Benfield Renault teamed up with e-bike firm Storck Raddar UK to offer the service to customers.

It is hoped the scheme will be a hit with city centre motorists who live or work near to the Benfield dealerships.

“This is a great idea from the team at Benfield Motor Group who are not only keen cyclists but forward thinking on electric transport," Ian Hughes, Managing Director Storck Raddar UK. "Riding a bike has always been a lot of fun and convenient and now it’s even more fun and easier with electric power assistance. It makes you feel you have legs like Superman (or Wonder Woman). No more hills of headwinds to worry about, no more out of breath of getting sweaty after your ride. Riding a Storck Multitask Raddar bike is like someone giving you a huge push from behind the saddle whilst you are riding.”

Benfield Motor Group operations director Colin Pybus added:, “A number of city-centre customers had suggested they would prefer a courtesy cycle rather than a car to nip back home or back to work as it was more convenient for them.”

“We are expecting the cycles to be very popular with health enthusiasts and you can also choose how much assistance you require depending on how energetic you feel on the day.”
