Japanese car brand Nissan becomes lead partner of German trade show Eurobike.

Car maker sponsors bike show

Nissan has signed on as the sponsor and partner of Eurobike, the Friedrichshafen trade and consumer bicycle show, due to be staged 4th to 7th September. In addition to providing guest shuttles, Nissan will be exhibiting its latest vehicles, including the Qashqai+2, the company’s new mini-SUV.

Qashqai has previously sponsored bike events, such as the Euro-wide Qashqai Urban Challenge, which attracts riders such as Darren ‘The Claw’ Berrecloth. Nissan also sponsors the Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.

“We are delighted that we could bring Nissan on board. This is a car maker that has established itself in the bike sector like no other brand,” said Eurobike project manager Stefan Reisinger.

Ralf Baumeister, who is responsible for marketing, trade shows and events at Nissan Center Europe, claimed: “Bikers fit very well with Nissan and vice-versa.”

Nissan is providing a fleet of fifteen vehicles for guest shuttles.

And guests will be able to spend a lot of time appreciating the insides of the Nissan vehicles: Eurobike is one of Friedrichshafen’s biggest expos and the access road into the showground is famously clogged each year during the morning and afternoon ‘rush’ hours.
