Dig out your rainbow lycra leggings and Etto helmets, the 15-year old Cheddar Challenge MTB event is seeking entries from those involved in the early days of UK mountain biking, whether they were/are high-profile racers, scribes, or industry moguls.

Cheddar Challenge seeks big cheeses

The Cheddar Challenge is the longest running classic in the UK and, to commerorate the fact, the event organisers have created a fun race for "anyone who’s had a significant profile in the sport over the years."

The fun run takes place on Sunday 5th October, the second day of the Cheddar Challenge. There’s no entry fee for big cheeses.

Be warned, everyone entering must wear, use or ride something from the deep, dark past.

"Our motivation in holding this invitational ride is to get together as many of the good old faces from the scene as we can for a hugely enjoyable race for the sheer hell of it and for old times sake," said Roger Burlinson, PR for the Challenge.

"We need real ‘names’ or significant players over the years, not just old riding mates, so the race really does live up to its potential."
