A brace of shops are being established in Yorkshire by Chevin, this side of July

Chevin Cycles opens two new stores in time for Grand Depart

Chevin Cycles opened a new store in Skipton this month, with another in Harrogate opening in May.

April 10th marked the opening in Skipton, where the new store sits on the high street of the historic market town, and is a Trek Flagship location, featuring Trek bikes, Bontrager accessories, and additional brands.

The Harrogate location will open at the end of May along Ripon Road, and will also feature Trek and Bontrager products prominently, among other offerings.

The Skipton expansion follows on from relationships forged with the local cycling community through the current Otley location. The new 3,500-square foot store will provide Chevin with a local platform from which to further the level of service to the community, and riders in the northwest part of the Wharfe Valley and surrounding areas. The store will carry a complete range of bikes suitable for riders of all ages, all disciplines, and all levels of experience.

“Skipton is the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, and that makes it a perfect location for a new store,” said Sanjai Bhatia, director of Chevin Cycles. “We’re fortunate to have found a location that is not only conveniently reached by riders in Leeds and the Wharf Valley, but one that is also situated right on the route of the Grand Depart. We couldn’t ask for a better way to showcase what we have for cyclists of all types in the Wharfe Valley.”

Chevin’s Harrogate location will be a multi-branded store spanning over 4,500-square feet. With its location on the Ripon Road in Harrogate’s New Park area, it will provide an easy-to-access destination for cyclists in and around the city. Both stores will carry an extensive range of Trek and Bontrager products, cementing the relationship between the manufacturer and a key partner in the North.

Nigel Roberts, Managing Director of Trek UK, said: “Chevin has been an important retailer to Trek for many years, and the new flagship store will showcase the vast array of products and services we offer to cyclists of all levels.”

“We are very pleased that Chevin has chosen to further our relationship with the addition of the new stores, and we are confident that their experience and reputation will allow cycling to continue to flourish in Yorkshire.”

Both stores will feature state-of-the art fitting studios offering Trek Precision Fit, as well as Project One, comprehensive service centres, and fleets of both road and mountain bikes for customers to demo.
