Its musical chairs in the world of MTB journalism

Chipps leaves 9feet.com; Jamie Hibbard leaves MBUK

Chipps Chippendale left for pastures new last week. Hes returning

to print magazine work.

9feet.com is reconsidering its approach to mountain bike content.

We’re still pals, said Chippendale. Im not a dotcom casualty.

Jamie Hibbard, MBUKs peacock, is leaving at the end of January to work on Metal Hammer magazine.

Music is his other big thing and he’s usually run working on MBUK

in tandem with being in, about to be in or having just split from a band, said MBUK editor Tym Manley.

Hibbard will still have a column in MBUK.

He didn’t want to get typecast purely as a bike journo plus a new girlfriend in London turned the tables, said Manley.

I’m very sorry he’s going, but I’m quite proud of the fact that, having

started as a teaboy, near enough, MBUK’s turned him into a decent journo

with a lot of flair.
