ATG Training hosting final of Britain’s Best Bike Mechanic

ATG Training in Oxford is hosting the final of Britain’s Best Bike Mechanic 2018 today.

In June, Cycling Weekly and MBR launched a campaign in association with Park Tool to find and recognise Britain’s Best Bike Mechanics.

The first phase was a public vote where over 2,900 votes were received for over 300 different mechanics.

The mechanics with the most votes formed a shortlist of ten who went on to complete a #BBBM2018 application form with scenario based questions which were then used to select the finalists, three for MTB and three for Road.

Today these finalists will attend the final at ATG training’s new Cytech training facility in Oxford.

The finalists will be asked to complete a number of tasks against the clock in a series of challenges designed to test their skills.

The competition will be judged by industry experts, GB Cycling’s head mechanic Mark Ingham and Park Tool’s director of education Calvin Jones.

The winner will receive the coveted BBBM2018 trophy and will be able to advertise themselves as Britain’s Best Bike Mechanic

They will also receive a £250 voucher to spend on Park tool products.
