50k consumers attended the three co-located shows

Attendance grows for London Bike Show

Attendance grew for last month’s ExCeL-set London show.

50,271 visitors (up 11 per cent) attended the shows – the London Bike Show is co-located with the Triathlon Show: London and the Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show. All three are organised by Telegraph Events.

Over 200 exhibitors attended the London Bike Show, including the likes of Madison, Cannondale, Pinarello, Colnago, Enigma, Canyon, Vulpine, Extra UK and Raleigh.

Steve Clark, group show director at Telegraph Events, said: “I am delighted that we have secured two years of significant back to back growth in terms of visitor and exhibitor numbers since VOS Media were bought by the Telegraph Media Group in 2013. The transition to Telegraph Events has helped us grow and improve the quality of our Shows, and with the backing of the Telegraph through an extensive editorial and advertising campaign, we have been able to reach a huge audience of high quality consumers. This year we put together the biggest marketing campaign to date, including TV advertising and sponsorship through Sky Sports and the response has been incredible.

“The team has managed to deliver an incredible line up of exhibitors, special guests and content, which has been highlighted in the fantastic feedback from visitors and exhibitors. The continued co-location with the Triathlon Show: London and The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show helps exhibitors to reach new relevant audiences and tap into markets that were previously unavailable.

“We are delighted with the results and cannot wait to build upon the solid foundations of these Shows in 2016.”

Here’s a round of quotes from exhibitors:

Clive Gosling – Marketing Manager, Cycling Sports Group: "The Show was a huge success for Cannondale, GT, Fabric and Sugoi this year. It is going from strength to strength with visitor numbers and the quality of audience is perfect for our brands."

Nick Allen – UK Marketing Manager, Canyon: “To say Canyon’s attendance at The London Bike Show this year exceeded all our expectations is an understatement. The events atmosphere was such that it perfectly supported our ambitions of reaching out to our fans and customers alike. Its vibrant platform and audience allowed us to focus on achieving our goals while at the same time enabled us to present our unique direct to market offering confidently safe in the knowledge that behind the scenes everything was being managed to the highest level of support.”

Jim Walker – Managing Director, Enigma Bicycle Works: “The 2015 London Bike Show far exceeded our expectations and I have to say that it was probably the most successful show we have ever attended. We noticed that the calibre of customers walking through the doors was higher and more knowledgeable than we have experienced at other similar shows. It was a great event and Enigma will exhibit again at The London Bike Show.”

Irene McAleese – Co-Founder, See.Sense (exhibiting in the BikeBiz-backed Innovation Lab): “The London bike show was fantastic for us. It was a very busy, well organised show, that gave us great exposure to both customers as well as to various industry contacts. The PR from the event was phenomenal too – we would highly recommend!”

Simon Lewis – Head of Communications for UK & Ireland, Eurosport: “The London Bike Show was a great opportunity to put the channel in front of committed and knowledgeable cycling fans. The Performance Theatre allowed us to bring our Home of Cycling message to life, with our key analysts, three time Tour de France winner Greg LeMond and Classics legend Sean Kelly participating in interviews and Q&As over the course of the show, allowing us to reinforce our expertise with cycling fans as the sport continues to grow.”

Catherine Litherland – Membership Marketing Manager, British Cycling: "Congratulations on another great Show. This year was stronger than ever and that was reflected in the footfall figures. The performance stage had a great line up, which unquestionably benefited us in driving both traffic to stand and giving us the opportunity to see/hear from some of our cycling heroes! We came away with new members and a bucket load of new prospect data, so all in all very positive."

Sir Chris Hoy – Olympian, HOY Bikes, HOY Vulpine: “The London Bike Show is incredibly important for the cycling industry, and I think it’s a great showcase not just for British Brands but for brands from all around the world – and it’s a great place to come and see what’s on offer.”

The London Bike Show, the Triathlon Show: London and The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show will return to ExCeL, London between 11th and 14th February 2016.
