A quick look at some of the brands hoping to brighten their chances of success at the NEC

Bike lights beaming into Cycle Show 2015

With the nation waving toddle pip to sunshine from this month, bike light business is expected to hot up, which means the NEC-set Cycle Show is well timed to capitalise on that market.

Here’s a small selection of the light brands you can expect to see at this year’s Cycle Show, which runs from Thursday September 24th to 27th (24th is exclusive trade and press day):

CyclBike Winglights – Stand K111 £34.99
These bright, flashing amber direction indicators magnetically attach to mounted bar end units that replace traditional bar ends (there are non-magnetic non-removable option also available). They are activated by a single tap and are shockproof as well as waterproof. The units, when removed, stick together to form a keyring.

Brightside – Stand A52 £TBC
Brightside has sideways-projecting lights on both sides. They mount to the downtube of a frame, are USB rechargeable, water resistant, easily removable and have a 78 degree beam.

Torch Helmet T2 – Stand L26 £90 special show price of £70
Torch is launching the new T2 helmet at the Cycle Show, featuring front and rear independent-operating USB recharchable lights with polycarbonate shatterproof lenses. The helmet includes eight optimally placed air vents and features a scratch resistant, semi gloss polycarbonate shell.

LED Lenser XEO19R – Stand J34 £229.99
This German torch and head lamp manufacturer is debuting its range at Cycle Show. The new XEO19R is the most powerful hands-free light the company has launched at 2,000 lumens. There’s a unique air-cooling system makes the light shine brighter the faster you go, perfect for cyclists!

Nite Bright – Stand M80 £23.95
Nite Bright is an LED safety system that attaches to bags, harnesses and clothing. The kit includes six activity symbols for maximum visibility in many outdoor pursuits. The brand says they can be safely seen at a distance of 200 metres.

See.Sense – Stand J122 £TBC
See.Sense is launching a new product at the NEC. It’s pitched as an "industry leading light that connects to smartphones opening a new world of features". We’re told it will include an anti-theft warning, crash reporting as well as much more.

Stripdrive has a co-moulded body sealing against bad weather with new Memory Mode that ensures the lights starts on the mode it was turned off on. Featuring a Li-Poly USB rechargeable battery there’s a body and strap that easily fits to any type of seatpost and handlebars.

The Cycle Show has been running since 2002 and has welcomed over 300,000 visitors since its launch. This year the show, which will be held at the NEC between 25th & 27th September, will host around 280 exhibitors from the cycling world.
