New for 2016, the CycleShow has teamed up with VeloVixen to launch a designated area to welcome anyone interested in women’s cycling.

The 1,200 sq ft zone is one of a number of new features to be introduced this year and is in response to the rise in women’s cycling, which has seen an increase of more than 254,000 women saddle up between 2013 and 2015.

The VeloVixen Women’s Cycling Hub will offer practical demonstrations, guest talks and Q&A sessions throughout the three-day event. Guests already confirmed include Olympic gold medallists Jo Rowsell Shand and Dani King, Tour De Force organiser Sarah Perry, Double World downhill champion Manon Carpenter from Madison Saracen Factory Race Team and Editor of Total Women’s Cycling Michelle Arthurs amongst others.

Speaking on the announcement, Director of the Cycle Show, Chris Holman, said: “Women’s cycling has enjoyed a significant increase in participation over the last few years with the likes of the Aviva Women’s Tour and the Breeze Initiative, plus the incredible success of GB women’s riders.

“Budding cyclists now have a host of British role models across the road, track and mountain bike disciplines, and we’re really excited to be welcoming star riders such as Dani King and Jo Rowsell Shand, plus downhill champion Manon Carpenter and Kinesis’ cyclocross racer Hannah Payton.

“The introduction of the VeloVixen Women’s Cycling Hub is a natural evolution for the Cycle Show in response to the rapid growth of women cyclists and is designed to engage both new and professional riders.”

Liz Bingham, Co-Founder of VeloVixen added: “The VeloVixen Women’s Cycling Hub is anticipated to be one of the busiest attractions at this year’s Cycle Show with appearances from some of women’s cycling most influential ambassadors.

“We encourage everyone of all ages and abilities to come and visit what’s sure to be the hub of women’s cycling at the Cycle Show. Beyond plenty inspirational and opinionated presenters, you’ll find a barrage of great chat and smiles from the VeloVixen team, plus lots of women just as passionate about cycling as you!”

The Cycle Show takes place this September 23- 25 at the NEC, Birmingham. The UK’s longest running cycle exhibition, this year will see over 300 companies taking part and over 27,000 visitors in attendance.
