BH brings e-motion to the NEC
In the electric market for more than eight years now, BH has always strived for its pedal assist bikes to strive to meet the company’s main design philosophy of light weight, efficiency and performance all combined.
As such, BH’s E-motion doesn’t really look like an electric bike and that’s partly down to the engineering partnership with Samsung, the maker of the brand’s bike batteries, as carried by 11 of the BH’s electric bikes.
BikeBiz was told that on these 11 bikes, which house the battery in a subtle oversized downtube, the battery is able to regenerate from the friction of braking by between three and five per cent. This is thanks to a technology that tells the motor to ‘become a generator’ under braking, ultimately adding a few miles range to a long distance ride.
Access to the Samsung down tube battery system starts at £1,999 and tops out at £2,800 for a sleek carbon build.
Dealers are sought in many regions across the UK, including the far South West, London, Liverpool and Manchester, so if you’re interested in BH’s extensive catalogue, both electric and pedal power, contact email@example.com
Mobiky debuts at Cycle Show
This year’s exhibition saw the show debut of the Mobiky folding label, recently added to the Rick and Paul Stanforth-run EBC stable.
Retailing from £899 for a plain, un-assisted folding bike, through to £1,599 for the full bells and whistles electric model, the line spans price points including £1,299 and £1,499 for varying battery ranges and gear hub spec. Top of the line, customers will take home an aluminium folding frame, sporting the pivot-placed carry handle as found on all Mobiky frames. The extra money sees the installation of an impressive lithium ion 24v 11ah battery and a brushless motor capable of a 40 to 60 km range dependant on use. Furthermore, for when un-assisted, the rider has the back up of a Nexus eight-speed gearhub and roller brakes.
Kickstands, mudguards and chain guards are featured as standard on each model from the brand.
