Cycle Show is expecting upwards of 30,000 visitors for its tenth anniversary show, starting later this month.
The newly installed 1km outdoor mountain bike demo track, built by Cycle Show and the NEC, is going to be a permanent fixture at the venue, the firms revealed.
Starting with the trade day on Thursday September 29th, the consumer side of Cycle Show runs from Friday September 30th and Sunday October 2nd.
“Birmingham is the perfect place for the show,” explained Cycle Show event director Andrew Brabazon. “We now have the outside space we’ve always needed to run both a proper road demo track on tarmac, and build a new 1km off-road demo track.
“We’ve freed up significant additional exhibition and feature space, making the show better than ever before.”

The NEC’s business development director Chris Hartley added: “We are delighted that the prestigious Cycle Show has chosen to move to the NEC, particularly as this year marks its 10th anniversary.
“The show continues to grow year-upon-year and we’re happy that the NEC provides the space and facilities needed to satisfy the show’s ever-increasing visitor numbers.
“The show’s move to the NEC also sees further collaboration between Upper Street Events and the NEC with the introduction of a purpose-built permanent outdoor track, which will be situated within our woodland area and will be available for bike demo days and corporate events throughout the year.
“This is a great example of how exhibitors can enjoy flexibility within our 611-acre site; not just within our 21 interlinking halls but across the site as a whole. We’re very much looking forward to welcoming the Cycle Show’s UK-wide visitors next month.”
