The awards will encompass the CW’s ‘Editor’s Choice Awards’ as well as highlighting the top riders, teams and clubs from grassroots to the professionals.
Head of the cycling commercial team Sean Igoe said: “To have five category partners confirmed, and three more reserved already really is exceptional, and we are very much looking forward to working with them over the next 12 months. We have only three left, I’m confident they will go by the end of February.”
“We are also having some very interesting conversations with London agencies who represent big corporates who are looking to align themselves to the road cycling market.”
As of February 1st, Madison, Pedalsure, Nederburg Wine, Sigma Sports and Brewin Dolphin are all committed to supporting the event.
Madison is confirmed to sponsor the Local Hero Award for 2018, which looks to showcase the great work done in the cycling community. Marketing director at Freeweel.co.uk/Madison Kellie Parsons added: “We are very proud to be sponsoring this award and feel that it really resonates with what we do and why we love cycling. Freewheel is all about supporting local bike shops and the people within them that make our industry tick.
“It’s often these unsung heroes that make the real difference in our sport, which is why we are so happy to support the award and we can’t wait to see who wins it.”
Sigma Sports is the sponsor of the International Rider of the Year award.
Managing director of Sigma Sports Ian Whittingham commented: “We're delighted to support the Cycling Weekly Awards in 2018. Pro cycling has always been at the heart of everything we do, and was the reason we started the business 25 years ago”.
“The opportunity to partner with Cycling Weekly and sponsor the International Rider award allows us to celebrate our amazing sport alongside our customers and industry colleagues.”
Cycling Weekly is still looking for an overall headline sponsor and for brands to get involved and support the following categories:
Female Rider of the Year (British)
