Flare founder shortlisted for National Young Entrepreneur Award

Hannah Myers, founder and creative director of Flare Clothing Company, has been shortlisted for the HSBC Forward Ladies 2017 National Awards.

Myers, who launched Flare just four years ago, has been nominated in both Young Entrepreneur and International categories. The awards bring together startups, multimillion pound businesses, academics and international business leaders in a celebration of their successes. Myers is one of 35 entrepreneurial ladies who will compete across 11 categories.

Forward Ladies managing director Griselda Togobo said on announcing the Midlands region shortlist, “The calibre of entries has been increasing year-on-year, but this year we have a number of outstanding entries and here at Forward Ladies we very much look forward to celebrating and sharing their success.”

Flare was founded in 2012, born from Myers’ frustration that she couldn’t buy the type of clothing she wanted to ride in – mid-way through a master’s degree, her attention shifted to meeting that gap in the market. “To be shortlisted with all of these other exceptional women is really flattering,” she commented. “I can’t wait to meet them and hear their stories.”

The regional final takes place this Friday, September 29th, at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. The winners of the regional will appear alongside the other regions’ winners to appear before a live panel of judges in November culminating in the National Awards Ceremony in Leeds on December 1st.
