Muc-Off has bagged two awards thanks to its innovative work in Testing Technology that supported Sir Bradley Wiggins’ in his record-beating attempt at the ‘Hour Record’.
The brand scooped both the Physical Test & Measurement category and the Application of the Year prizes at the the National Instruments (NI) Northern European Engineering Impact Awards 2015, held at the Royal Academy of Engineering.
The awards highlight Northern Europe’s most innovative engineering projects using NI technology to solve some of the world’s most demanding engineering challenges.
Muc-Off collaborated with Team Sky for its comprehensive testing system to quantify the quality of their lubricants. Muc-Off created a test ‘rig’ that gives immediate results on the efficiency added to a chain by their lubricants. This innovation in testing is being used in the development of a new class of lubricant, incorporating military grade materials and Nano-Tube technology, the brand said.
Using this technology Muc-Off supplied a fully tested and optimised chain to Sir Bradley Wiggins for his Hour Record attempt. This aided him in smashing the world record by more than 3 per cent, travelling 54.526km (33.88 miles) in only 60 minutes.
The brand added: "Muc-Off is excited to be recognised on such a large scale and look forward to passing on these elite performance gains to their loyal customers. We will now be heading to Texas for the global finals!"
