Pashley gets behind graduate jobs campaign

Birmingham Made Me regional campaign has previously seen UK bike builder hire fresh talent

Pashley has commited to the 2014 Birmingham Made Me graduate jobs campaign, having found fresh talent for the business at the 2012 event.

Hannah Farrell, a graduate of BIAD, a part of Birmingham City University, joined two years ago and has since become a valued member of the Pashley team. Pashley’s managing director Adrian Williams said of the appointment:

"Hannah’s arrival at Pashley is the perfect example of why Birmingham Made Me is such an excellent campaign for the region. We’re committed to being a part of this initiative. Hannah’s talent is undoubted, but her time spent at one the region’s most creative universities gave her the insight and grounding we needed in our own design team. Now she is helping us to become even more successful.

“We hope that 2014’s Birmingham Made Me will encourage other gifted creative graduates to consider our region’s thriving manufacturing industries. It’s their talents that will keep our region at the forefront of our country’s economic revival."

Farrell, now product designer at Pashley Cycles, added: "When I began my studies I didn’t realise how much design and creativity went into something as mechanical as a bicycle. However, the people at BIAD helped me understand how to put my creativity into practice and Birmingham Made Me gave me the chance to meet with real employers, the sort who would value my talent. It was a better start to my career than I imagined.
