German bike-fitting experts Radlabor debuted a laser guided bike fitting jig at the recent IceBike show, telling retailers "it takes just five minutes to accurately measure a customer's dimensions and match them to their perfect bike."

Said to be accurate within 1mm, the system works on a sliding jig, which measures the customer up with a click of a button while the laser hovers over key areas.

BikeBiz was told: "It works on a green light system, where once the customer is measured up, their dimensions will be matched with a database of off the shelf bikes, or failing that, a data sheet can be created for a custom build. What's more, the software will hold the customer's details for any future reference."

Three packages are available to dealers now - sale, fitting and fitting and sale. Information on in store measurement units can be found here.
