After six years in the position, Richard Allmark has decided to step down as chief executive of Fisher Outdoor Leisure with immediate effect.

Over the next few months, until a new chief executive has been appointed, the company will be led by Alan Smith, taking on the executive chairman role, together with sales and marketing director Mike Cook and finance and operations director Clive Drysdale.

Smith said: "Richard has worked tirelessly to bring the company to its present position of strength in the UK cycle market. Richard leaves with our very best wishes for the future."
