Saddleback welcomes new commercial director

Saddleback is continuing its recruitment drive with several new appointments including Neil Towns, former buying director of WiggleCRC, as commercial director.

As commercial director, Towns will be working closely with managing director Andy Wigmore and brand director Richard Mardle to “further strengthen Saddleback’s offering to brands, stockists and consumers"

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Saddleback family,” said Towns. “Having worked as a retailer all my career, latterly at WiggleCRC, the chance to join one of the best-run supply-side businesses in the industry with a fantastic range of brands and a skilled and dedicated team of professionals was too good an opportunity to let slip.

“I’m looking forward to helping Andy and the Saddleback team, and all our brand owners, build an even stronger business that serves all its retail partners to the highest standards while keeping pace with the ever-changing landscape of the bicycle industry in the UK, Europe and beyond.”

Saddleback founder Andy Wigmore added: “Neil’s appointment as commercial director is just one of a number of additions to Saddleback designed to strengthen the team as we continue to expand.

“Our investment at this time is a clear signal of our ambition to continue our growth and success in a rapidly changing industry and ensure that Saddleback continues to be highly regarded by our suppliers, stockists, the cycling industry as a whole and also within the wider business community.”

In addition to Towns, Saddleback has recently added two new members of staff to its warehouse workforce and is looking forward to welcoming new starters to its customer service and creative teams, while Saddleback will soon begin hiring for new wheel building, merchandising, ecommerce and marketing staff.
