Scott Montgomery becomes CEO of Reynolds Cycling

Industry veteran Scott Montgomery has become the CEO of Reynolds Cycling of Snady, Utah. Montgomery has been chairman of Lifeboat Events and prior to that he was responsible for reintroducing Scott USA to the US market. Previously was one of the top executives at Cannondale, a company founded by his father. Latterly he has been running his own consultancy, CrankTank, and before that had leadership roles at Nutcase helmets and at Club Ride apparel.

“It’s exciting to have the opportunity to work with such a strong staff known for outstanding carbon products and a rich history in the cycling industry,” said Montgomery. “Our intention is to elevate this brand and introduce exciting new gravel and mountain carbon products that are leaders in weight, performance, and value.”

Montgomery will be strengthening the global sales team while readying for Eurobike.

He aims to hire US sales reps, add international distributors and to ensure retail pricing is consistent across all channels (the company has selected Oris Intel for MAP enforcement).

He said his new company, called CrankTank, will focus on CEO consulting, marketing strategy with an emphasis on the emerging e-commerce shift, and succession planning to help owners transition to the next level.

"It has been exciting working with so many companies," said Montgomery. "I kept getting so many calls asking for advice that I decided to branch out after the successful Nutcase to Bravo Sports merger and work with companies that could benefit from my broad history of leading companies in our space."
