True Communications appoints new VP

True Communications has appointed PR executive Meredith Obendorfer as senior vice president to support significant momentum with technology and consumer electronics companies.

Obendorfer brings with her extensive experience in strategic communications including expertise in public relations for both technology-focused B2B and B2C companies. The brand has commented that Obendorfer is a natural fit for True due to her personal passion for adventure sports.

Obendorfer will be responsible for client management, nurturing True’s talent pool and putting in place operational processes to ensure growth.

“On the heels of an amazing 2016, we’re well poised for a phenomenal year of growth in both our client base and with our team,” said Mark Reidy, president at True Communications. “Meredith provides our firm with unparalleled insight into the technology industry, and with her extensive agency experience, she brings the skill set we need to continue our continued expansion into the technology industry. We’re also looking forward to getting out on a bike ride with her.”

“As a well-respected agency among outdoor brands and with huge early wins in the tech industry, True has an amazing opportunity ahead of it,” said Obendorfer. “Over the course of my career, I’ve looked to connect my professional PR skills to my personal passion for the outdoors, and I couldn’t be more excited to do so at True. I’m eager to help the firm achieve its true, eh hem, potential, as well as try to outsprint at least half the team.”

In 2016, True grew more than 50 per cent in billings and saw a 30 per cent increase in client account. The brand also managed high-visibility public relations and digital communications efforts including Ember Technologies and BSX Technologies.
