Cooper Bikes is planning to offer a wider range of bicycles to retail alongside an apparel range.

The brand now has distribution coverage in almost all European markets, as well as the USA, Japan and other main markets.

There are ‘exciting collaborations’ in the pipeline, as well as the brand’s first 29er and a Dutch-style sit-up-and-beg bike.

The brand has established itself as something of a 'style press' darling, scoring coverage in a wealth of magazines outside the traditional cycle media channels.

Mike Cooper told BikeBiz: "I’m happy with the way it has gone so far. We’re planning to reach more markets and we’ll have a higher number of accessories next year – and more dealers too."

Cooper, son of John Cooper – co-founder of cultural icon Cooper Car Company – revealed that his first bike was a Raleigh Chopper, bought by his father. Cooper Cars’ other co-founder Charles Cooper – Mike’s grandfather – swiftly bought him a fixed gear bike.

Mike Cooper added: "We’ve got the history here and we’re not just picking these bikes up off the shelf. We’ve got the innovating and engineering background and we use quality components."

All the frames are named after Grand Prixs that Coopers raced in, while the handlebars are named after racing circuit corners.

Evans Cycles stocks the brand, but will also supply Cooper Bikes to IBDs.
