Guests can pedal for their food at the Crowne Plaza

Copenhagen hotel offers free meals for cyclists

The Copenhagen Corwne Plaza Hotel has offered a £23 meal voucher for guests willing to pedal.

ETA.co.uk reports that as part of the hotel’s environmental policy, it is rewarding customers who use an adapted exercise bike to create at least 10 watt-hours of electricity, enough to power a light bulb for approximately 15 minutes.

It’s estimated that the average person would take 15 minutes to produce 10 watts-hour of energy.

The hotel also sports solar panels to gather renewable energy.

According to the piece, a dynamo released earlier this year has been designed to power many household devices, including anything designed to run from a car’s cigarette lighter.
