Dealers have been spending longer at the show too, organisers tell BikeBiz

CORE BIKE 2012: Retailers flock to the biggest Core yet

Core Bike’s continued popularity with the bike trade has seen it attract an increasingly diverse range of bike retailers, from the smallest independents to the vast majority of the biggest retailers in the business.

This year the show has six new exhibitors – making it the biggest Core Bike yet.

The number of visitors on Core’s opening day almost doubled, show spokesperson Elaine Curtin told BikeBiz.

"Sunday was incredibly popular with retailers – we saw double the attendance of the same day last year. We found that more of the small independent shops attended this year. It’s testament to the relaxed, easy-going atmosphere of the show that so many independents were willing to give up their Sunday to come along."

"As well as the small independent shops we also saw the vast majority of the big retailers, from online and on the High Street, come to Core this year."

This year visitors spent more time at the show, which Curtin attributes to the increase in exhibitors.

"This year we’ve also seen retailers stay at the show for longer. On Sunday they were queing out of the door when we opened at 9am, and most of them were still there at the end of the afternoon," Curtin added.
