Exhibitors at the Core Bike show responded to the commute by fixie and fixie freestyle trends in record numbers this year. Here’s a round up of some of the gear, distributor by distributor:
Windwave:
The debut of Traitor Cycles was perhaps Windwave’s biggest shout at this year’s show. Taking pride of place by the entrance, the samples of these bikes had only arrived the Tuesday prior to the show.
Traitor’s range will begin at £600 and customers are able to build frame kits from the bottom up. A geared disc brake road bike is due to join the catalogue shortly.
Upgrade:
DMR are soon to release info on a fixie specific fork, which will be heat-treated and suitable for the freestyle side of the market. Weighing in at just 900 grams, the full-crmo fork will cost around £100.
Chicken Cyclekit:
Miche had on display a range of coloured components, including a track crank and chainring line, to sit aside the black and silver components already in stock. Anodised Miche hubs are also due to arrive around mid-feb.
Ison:
Identiti’s Persona complete bike was one of many products too join Ison’s already bulging fixie catalogue. This build comes specced with the best of Halo’s rims and hubs, all anodised to match. There’s also a smattering of Gusset product including a full bashguard covered chainring.
Gusset has also developed a short flat bar dubbed the ‘Flik’, as well as a bar and stem combination to be available in either black or white.
Silverfish: (pictured)
RaceFace has entered the fixie ring too with the launch of a crank dubbed the Decadence. This launch was accompanied by a new chainring to be available in multiple colours.
