Olympic cycle champion left unhurt by Thursday's car collision

Crash won’t stop Chris Hoy training, promises BC

Sir Chris Hoy’s car accident last week won’t get in the way of his training for the forthcoming European Championships, according to British Cycling.

The Olympian was involved in a crash in Manchester on Thursday August 5th, involving another vehicle – the driver of which has reportedly admitted responsibility for the incident.

British Cycling released a statement on the crash: "Everyone is very relieved that Chris was not hurt in the car accident in Manchester, and he is continuing with full time training in preparation for the start of the season.

"Contrary to some of the inaccurate reports that have appeared in the press, there were no passengers in either of the cars involved in the collision. Chris was slowly edging forwards to turn right into a main road when the front of his car was hit by another car from the right."
