Cycle Expo Yorkshire is taking place this weekend, 21st to 22nd September.
Taking place at Harrogate’s Yorkshire Event Centre, the show is a celebration of cycling across all disciplines and coincides with the opening of the 2019 UCI Road World Championships.
Visitors can expect an interactive programme including sofa session interviews with some of cycling’s biggest names, bike skill demonstrations and a variety of different activities for the whole family.
Cycling heavyweight’s Olympic medallist and four-times winner of the British National Road Race Championships Lizzie Deignan, BMX champion Matti Hemmings and Paralympic gold medallist Steve Bate MBE will all be in attendance.
Cyclists and non-cyclists can test out the latest bike releases across Cycle Expo’s testing tracks including a purpose-made woodland mountain track and kid’s demo zone. Recently added to the weekend is an indoor Olympic-styled velodrome track for all ages.
An official affiliate of the UCI Road World Championships, Cycle Expo Yorkshire will be hosting the registration and finish line of the UCI sportive where thousands of amateur riders will experience the same route as the pro-cyclists.
Some of the world’s biggest cycling brands will be exhibiting new products at the expo with Vielo, Cycology and Vitfor announced this week. They will be part of the event’s ‘Exhibition Zone’, where visitors can test and buy the latest in bikes, clothing, accessories and cycling holidays.
Guy Kesteven, head of bike at Cycle Expo Yorkshire, said: “With less than a week to go we’re really excited to show why Yorkshire is the capital of cycling in the UK.
“We’ve got a ton of activities to get involved in, so there is something for every cycling discipline and at all levels. We’ve also worked with leading brands to bring visitors the newest technology and kit on the market.
“Working in affiliation with the UCI World Road Championships, it truly will be a weekend of mass celebration of cycling for everyone from novices to professionals.”
