The £20 000 prize-winning entry was a portfolio of shots by Peter Adams which included two shots featuring cyclists. The runner-up in the 'Spirit of Adventure' category was Martin Breschinski with his from-the-handlebar shots, much used by UK cycle magazines and bicycle suppliers.

Breschinski came second, fifth and 17th in three different categories of the Travel Photographer of the Year competition.

"Having only entered three portfolios I was very chuffed that all three had got somewhere against an entry of 10 000 images," Breschinski told BikeBiz.com.

Breschinski has produced commissioned work for, among others in the cycle trade, Clark’s Cables, Continental Tyres, Cyclo Tools, Halfords and Sustrans.

The cycle portfolio part of his website is ‘still under construction’ (with a nice pic of a builder) but the rest of the site displays Breschinski’s mainstream commissions.
