Gadget that lets mountain bikers replay their trail rides on their phones among the finalists

Cycle inventors in running for inaugural British Inventors Project

The Commuter X4, Plume and ReTrack are three inventions that have been picked out as finalists in the inaugural British Inventors Project.

The project – highlighting 20 products that have the potential to change their day-to-day lives – will be showcased at the Gadget Show Live, from takes place April 9th to 13th.

The Commuter X4 increases cyclists’ visibility to other road users through a rear lighting system.

There’s been no shortage of praise for the Plume recoiling mudguard, which may be more familiar and is featuring in a Design Museum exhibition.

ReTrack, however, allows cyclists to replay their trail rides from multiple angles and in 3D with an animated action replay on their smartphone.

One of the 20 finalists will be crowned British Innovation of the Year 2014.
