The Cycle Show has opened to the trade this morning and exhibitors already appear busy.
Cycling England’s chairman Philip Darnton opened the show at the main stage, stating that despite a poor economy, the trade has been, and will likely continue to be bouyant.
"Everyday 60 million is spent within our industry. Government funding, along with Bike Hub contributions and a number of cycle-savvy ministers highlighting cycling frequently places our trade in a fantastic position for growth," said Darnton.
"There are now 500,000 trips by bike daily in London. Add to this a planned £14 million spend on improving our capital’s stations and the Cycle Hire scheme, previewed here today and the future looks promising."
