Discounts and free check-ups being offered throughout the week

Cycle Republic aims to boost business with Cycle to Work Day

Tomorrow is Cycle to Work Day (Thursday, 3rd September), an initative created by Cyclescheme designed to encourage commuters to give cycling a go.

With promotion for the event in an estimated 500 employers in the UK, bike shops are being encouraged to make the most of the opportunity by joining in the promotion and offering free bike health checks, with the opportunity to sell parts and accessories on the side.

Halfords’ burgeoning Cycle Republic outlets are doing exactly that, offering free check-ups, puncture repairs and maintenance across all its stores this week, as well as discounts on bikes and clothing and P&A.

Cycle Republic, which is supporting this year’s BikeBiz Awards, has shops in Euston Tower, Margaret Street in the West End, Twickenham, Norwich, Nottingham, Manchester and Bristol.

The campaign aims to get a milion people on their bikes to work in the UK by 2021. There’s probably still just about time to get involved – www.cycletoworkday.org
