Cycle Systems Academy offering 75 per cent off training

BikeBiz Award winning Cycle Systems Academy is offering a 75 per cent reduction in the price on its VRQ Level 3 qualification, for a limited time.

For just £350 (usually £1,440), bike shops and companies within the cycle industry can send along their staff for training, though booking and payment is required prior to July 31st. Students then have until 31st July 2013 (12 months) to complete the training. This means you can book a course in advance and still secure the government funded discount.

With demand already proving to be very high, Cycle Systems Academy director Sean Lally is encouraging early booking as places are going fast.

“Since the funding became available, the outstanding value of this offer has meant that our phones have been ringing off the hook with interested parties” he explains. “Whilst available until July 31st, the offer may see us allocate all the available places much quicker than that so we would really encourage those interested to book up as soon as they can”

The Level 3 in Cycle maintenance and repair qualification is a full Engineering VRQ Diploma with credits able to go towards a degree in any Engineering framework. It is ideal for both mechanics looking to enhance their knowledge or for shops wanting to train their staff to the highest possible standard and includes:

  • Working in a maintenance environment (advanced)
  • Understanding of customer service requirements (advanced)
  • Principles of cycle hydraulic braking systems
  • Principles of cycle fork suspension systems
  • Principles of full suspension cycle systems
  • Principles of complex cycle wheel systems and advanced wheel-building
  • Road bike advanced group-set set up and repair, including Campagnolo, SRAM and Shimano, including Di2

“There is an option to study either as a two week intensive or over a series of five weekends,” concludes Lally.
