Cycling Media Awards 2015: Everything you need to know

The Cycling Media Awards 2015 take place next month on November 12th, celebrating the year’s achievements of the cycling media world.

Bringing together the nation’s top cycling journalists, photographers, bloggers, vloggers in one room, this year’s event takes place in Islington’s Metalworks and is sponsored by Cycleguard (host of the drinks reception) and Cycle Alert (sponsor of the Cycling Advocate category). Sponsorship opportunities are still available – contact Richard for more details – rsetters@nbmedia.com

Who’ll be in the room?
We’re hoping for a similar crowd to last year, which was an auspicious line-up by all accounts, including the following media brands: MBUK, ITV, Men’s Health, The Velocast, GQ, Eurosport, Shortlist, The Independent, Observer, The Times, Total Women’s Cycling, road.cc, MPORA, The Ride Journal, Cycling Active, London Evening Standard, The Telegraph, Guardian, The Cycling Podast, IMB, Singletrack, Sportive.com, BBC, Men’s Fitness, Women’s Fitness, Cycling Weekly, Dirt and more.

Who’s up for an award?
Cycle writers, photographers, bloggers, national newspapers, mainstream magazines and many more. See the full list of finalists, as voted for by our readers, in this story.

When & where is it?
This year the Cycling Media Awards are at the Islington Metalworks, very close to Angel tube station. Fittingly, the Metalworks has historical transport links – stabling horses that pulled trams for London Transport in the late 19th Century. In 1925 it was converted into a still functioning metalworks. There’s a map on the venue’s site here.

The Islington Metal Works, 7 Torrens Street, Angel, Islington, London, EC1V 1NQ. Tel: 0207 278 9081

What can I expect on the night?
An awards ceremony (of course), food, drink and networking with the cycle media glitterati. Take a look at our gallery from last year’s Cycling Media Awards for an idea of what to expect on the night.

How can I come along to the CMAs? Journalists will be invited free of charge – we’ll be contacting them in the coming weeks and offering a limited number of free tickets per title. The event is also open to everyone else, but we do charge for those tickets.

Who’s supporting the Cycling Media Awards 2015?
Cycle insurance specialist Cycleguard is hosting the drinks reception and safety awareness system Cycle Alert is sponsoring the Cycling Advocate category.

There are limited sponsorship opportunities still available – contact Richard Setters for more details – rsetters@nbmedia.com
