Cycling Sports Group UK has seen its best ever year in sales revenue, it said today.
The news came in a Christmas message from MD Russell Merry, who added that this year the firm would be supporting Michael Bonney for this year’s Christmas Card donation.
Here’s the full Christmas message sent out to dealers from CSG MD Russell Merry:
"May I start by wishing all of our customers a very happy Christmas and thank them for their continued business partnership with Cycling Sports Group in 2015.
Whilst we have experienced our best ever year in sales revenue, we know that it has been a challenging year for retail, so we are extremely appreciative that our dealers have recognised CSG’s strengths of stock position, competitive pricing and ease of doing business to make some of our brands the fastest growing in the UK cycle market.
We started off the year with a bang with the Cannondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra winning a further two Bike Of The Year awards from road.cc, cementing its position as the UK’s best selling sportive bike. Hot on its tail was the GT Grade Carbon 105 which was awarded Best Debut and made the top three in Cycling Plus magazine’s Bike Of The Year.
The summer saw record attendance at our Williams F1 launch with dealers flocking to see our new products from Fabric, Sombrio clothing and Charge’s 27Plus bikes, alongside Cannondale and GT’s biggest ever years for new product platform introductions.
This was shortly followed by Rachel Atherton taking her GT Fury to yet another World Championship and World Cup overall title. We topped off the year by again walking away with the Bikebiz Best Bike Distributor award for 2015 whilst Fabric won the award for Best New Brand.
We’re proud to have achieved all this, but prouder still of the hard working people in our industry that keep it going. Every year we choose a worthy charity to donate the equivalent cost of sending out Christmas cards. Last year we donated to Martyn Ashton’s rehabilitation fund and this year we are proud to support Michael Bonney, who after a simple fall from his road bike whilst competing in a sportive was paralysed from the neck down, but is determined to ride off-road again. Anyone wishing to help Michael may do so via his website: http://www.rideformichael.org
2016 will be a huge year for CSG UK; we will be implementing SAP back office across the business from January 1st which will integrate us with all the other CSG regions and allow us to provide additional support for your businesses moving forward. We have been training our staff extensively to transition to SAP but please bear with us whilst we go through the inevitable challenges of switchover in the New Year.
Once again, we thank our dealers and partners alike and wish everyone the best success for the 2016 season."
