Cyclocrossrider.com builds team with new recruits

Cyclocrossrider.com has bolstered its team ahead of its planned Autumn launch, with the addition of Michael Humphreys as the website’s Commercial Manager and Kristof Ramon as Chief Photographer.

Humphreys will be approaching the trade with some exciting ways of connecting with the cyclocross scene. He brings many years commercial experience in print and online publishing, including stints with BikeMagic and RoadCyclingUK. There’s also his outside commitment to the sport that includes being chair of the successful project to secure a cycling legacy from London’s Olympics and the promotion of numerous road and cyclocross races. Michael will be the primary contact for those who want to do business with Cyclocrossrider.com.

Humphreys said: "I started in publishing on business and management magazines in the eighties. I launched the UKs first title to do with business applications of the internet in 1996 and went on to launch one of the first consumer travel websites in 1999. There’s a buzz around all of cycling which reminds me of those boom times, but this time it’s with the added bonus that Cyclocrossrider is put together by the best people in this most devoted of cycle sport disciplines. We’re here to deliver high standard photo-reportage of cyclocross for those who’ve always known about the sport, bringing them flavours direct from its heartland in a way that will also attract many more, making the market greater all the time. It’s an exciting opportunity [and businesses should form an orderly queue]."

Ramon is a highly-respected cycle sport photographer whose award-winning images will make the new website and its social media channels far more engaging. After a career in Belgian television Kristof made the switch to a different kind of lens in 2009 and produced a critically acclaimed series of portraits of pro cyclists. His work is used by some of the biggest brands and teams in the sport of cycling and in 2013 he won a Nikon Sports Press Award.

Editor and Publisher, Manning has 15 years of magazine editorial experience and has worked in the bike trade for companies including Rapha and Condor Cycles. He has also written for the UK cycling press since 2001.

Contact with the new recruits can be made through michael@cyclocrossrider.com, whilst editorial enquiries should be directed to konrad@cyclocrossrider.com.
