Cyclorise to import new Sahmurai Sword bar plug tubeless repair system in UK

Cyclorise has announced that it will import the Sahmurai Sword bar plug tubeless repair system into the UK.

The new variant will be available through Cyclorise within the next few weeks.

Cyclorise director Thomas Dibley said: “I’ve been a fan of the Sahmurai Sword tubeless repair system for some time and am over the moon to now represent the brand in the UK.

“Along with GUP Industries and our in house brand Lourí, we are now offering a number of solutions to effectively offer a more viable solution to lose the back pack on shorter or even longer rides.”

Nearly four years since it first entered the market, the original Sahmurai Sword has now undergone an upgrade, with improvements on the back of rider feedback and continued internal research and development over the past years.

The system allows riders to store both the plug and reamer tool inside the handlebars.

The new features include a soft, durable, impact-proof rubber compound, a counter-clockwise spiral twist that ensures the lock-and-release mechanism fits tight and securely in the bar end, a deep recessed pin and stable, yet flexible, base, and improved packaging that is tamper-proof and more eco-friendly.

The team behind the product said: “The mechanism of twist to engage or release still remains an important function and separates us from cheaper copies.

“We have worked hard on the design process and taken customer feedback to heart.

“Our original intent was to ensure the handlebar was protected, but as the impact to handlebars were much more than we anticipated, it was clear that a more durable material was required.

“The flights of the updated version overlap in the front and back to ensure a good seal.

“Small imperfections in the bar cavity does not influence fit, as in the past.

“Once the updated version is removed from the handlebar, a simple dip in warm water will return the product to its original shape as it is made from rubber that has memory.”
