Avanti’s Project Evo II scores Design Award win

New Zealand’s Best Design Awards have honoured Avanti’s new Project Evo II racing bike, which won the top Purple Pin (Supreme) Award.

Organised by NZ’s Designers Institute, the awards are a tribute to the country’s best product, spatial, graphic and interactive designs of the year. As best in its category, Avanti was awarded the Gold Pin, then later with the coveted Purple Pin.

Avanti’s Project Evo II racing bike is a time trial and track racing bike, released after three years in development.

The judges said: “This amazingly light performance machine demonstrates meticulous attention to detail. The design confidently represents New Zealand in one of the world’s most demanding and exacting sport and recreational arenas.”

Avanti product director Kim Struthers enthused over the win: “It is a great honour to receive this award and I am just wrapped for the whole team. It has been a real collaborative effort by the product team, our riders and indeed our entire business. It just shows you that no matter how competitive the industry a kiwi company like Avanti can create world beating products.

“Watch this space, after 25 years of creating fantastic bikes under the Avanti brand we feel we are only just getting started and there are many exciting developments to come over the next few years.”

Distributor Paligap’s managing director Dave Lane added: “We are not surprised that Avanti Have won this award , we know how much research goes into the frame design and cannot wait to get these bikes into the UK market."

And UK retailers have got to wait until March to get their hands on the bike.
