Chicken CycleKit announces partnership with Michelin

Chicken CycleKit has announced that it has been selected by world tyre brand Michelin as it’s newest Gold Partner distributor for the UK alongside Raleigh.

Chicken Cyclekit are one of only 14 gold distributors worldwide and this gives them access to exclusive models within the Michelin range including the new Power models.

The recently launched Power range, which uses proprietary silica-based tread compounds that were originally designed for their performance car tyres. Michelin’s new Power range reduces rolling resistance by 25% for a 25mm tyre, which equates to a 10 Watt energy saving; that’s equivalent to 54 seconds saved climbing Alpe D’ Huez. As well as reduced rolling resistance, Michelin have increased puncture resistance by 13% and lateral grip by 35% making it the fastest tyre with the best grip and puncture resistance on the market.

The Power range will be sold to only a select few online partners with the main focus being sales through the UK IBD network. Another new model for 2016 is the Krylion 2 tyre. The Krylion 2 range will be completely IBD-specific with a protected margin, and is a performance tyre similar to the PRO 4 endurance available in 3 widths.

As one of the largest tyre companies in the world, their factory, R&D facility and testing centre are all based in one facility in Ladoux, France, allowing Michelin complete end-to-end control to make the best product possible.

Chicken have been appointed by Michelin to launch the Power road range of road tyres but we will be offering key MTB lines as well. The tyres are available on their b2b now and a stockist package is available for first orders.

Any dealers who are interested in stocking the new range should contact Jason Smith in the Chicken Sales office on 01525 381347 or visit chickenb2b.co.uk
