Revenue increases for the Taiwan manufacturers

Giant and Merida report sales rise

According to this report from BRAIN, Giant and Merida saw sales revenue rocket in March.

Giant saw revenue in the month reach NT $1.7 billion, up 39 per cent from the same month in 2009. Giant’s year to date revenue has also increased – by 3.8 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Fellow Taiwan-based manufacturer Merida saw revenue for the month increase 62.9 per cent to NT $1.17 billion. For the year so far, Merida is up 12.7 per cent in terms of revenue, compared with this time in 2009.

The month wasn’t universally good for Taiwanese cycle manufacturers, however. Ideal – reportedly the smallest manufacturer in the nation – saw revenues drop by almost half – 44.4 per cent – in March compared with the same month in 2009.

Last month, Taiwan-set Taipei Cycle Show broke previous attendance records.
